Frontman Mohamed Khalfan salvaged a draw for Al Orooba, with a 1-1 scoreline at home to Al Nasr in matchweek 15 of the ADNOC Pro League with a dramatic injury-time equalizer on Friday at Fujairah Stadium.

Al Nasr enjoyed the bulk of possession during the first half, as they threatened the hosts’ goal early on when Antonio Jose De Carvalho curled a powerful shot from a free-kick, brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Ahmed Hamdan Alhosani.

Al Orooba came close to opening the scoring against the run of play when Ahmed Moosa went one-on-one with the keeper, but an Al Nasr defender managed to clear.

Just seven minutes before the teams headed to the dressing rooms for the break, Al Orooba’s defense failed to properly clear the ball and it fell to Sebastian Tagliabue, who smashed it beyond the reach of the hosts’ goalkeeper Alhosani and into the bottom right corner of the net.

Twenty-four minutes after the restart, Ryan Mendes missed a chance to double the scoreline as his effort was denied by Alhosani, who kept up his excellent showing during the game.

Khalfan hit a late equalizer for the hosts when Appolinaire Kack brilliantly dribbled inside the penalty area and sent a low cross to the former, who curled the ball in from six yards out to level the scoring in injury time.

Al Nasr are now eighth with 19 points, while Al Orooba sit in the thirteenth place with 9 points.
