Al Orooba claimed the battle of the bottom two with an emphatic 4-2 win against Emirates Club in eleventh round action of the ADNOC Pro League, late on Saturday.
With both teams dishing out an attacking brand of football, Al Orooba kept things within control at all times while never allowing the cellar-placed Emirates to nose clear.
Saeed Obaid’s reflex header gave Al Orooba the lead in the 15th minute, but Goseph Gnado found an equalizer a minute away from the half-hour mark.
Ali Madan made it 2-1 for the home team in the 55th minute and Redha Atassi pushed them further ahead at 3-1 in the 61st minute.
Lithiery Silva gave the visitors some hope as he pulled back a goal in the 64th minute.
But Ahmed Moosa put the issue beyond doubt in the 86th minute to take the Al Orooba tally up to seven points, while Emirates remained consigned to the cellar with just one point.
